This was a one day's training workshop on effective business communication and presentation skills held at the St. Thomas Presbytery. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Anirban Roy Chowdhury of HSBC and our very own Ms. Philomena Eaton. The workshop was divided into twosessions;the first part was the presentation skills which Mr. Chowdhury addressed to the members/guest. He stressed on the importance of preparedness, voice modulations and guidelines whilst making a presentation and how presentations can be effective if used in a structured manner. While Ms. Eaton conducted the second session which emphasized on soft skills while giving a presentation and gave us a 'PREP' formula for communication, which is Point, Reason, Examples and Point Reiterated. She also advised us on how one must disagree without being disagreeable during a group discussion and the significance of making eye contact to be an effective communicator.

It was an excellent workshop and thanks to all the participants for giving their valuable time inspite of it being a Sunday and unquestionably we'll found it to be an enjoyable and informative experience.
